[Chiang Mai with Kids] Visiting Elephant PooPooPaper Park

아이온유. 2025. 5. 1. 10:58

We visited Elephant PooPooPaper Park, a place our poop-loving kids were super excited about!

🕘 Opening Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
🎟️ Entrance Fee: 150 THB (approx. $15)
👶 Free admission for children under 5

Since it's located near Tiger Kingdom, many people seem to visit both places together.

Even our taxi driver kept asking if we were going to Tiger Kingdom!

We used Grab to get there, and the fare was 300 THB (about $9).

The driver then offered to wait for 1 hour and bring us back for an extra 200 THB (about $6) .

We told him that an hour would be too short because we were planning to visit somewhere else after Elephant PooPooPaper Park, and surprisingly, he said he’d wait for us there too!

So in the end, we paid 500 THB (about $15) total for the round trip.

It may not have been the cheapest deal, but since we've had a few rough experiences trying to catch a taxi back before, we said yes.

It takes about 40 minutes from Old Town to get there.

There are no elephants at Elephant PooPooPaper Park.
just their poop! 😄

They offer a free guided tour,
and you can also book the tour online in advance.

We didn’t make a reservation in advance,
but we were able to enter right away without any problem.

It’s a good idea to time your visit to match the guided tour schedule.

🕒 The tour itself takes about 30 minutes,
and at the end, there’s a hands-on craft area where we spent almost an hour.

So overall, you can plan to spend around 1 to 1.5 hours at Elephant PooPooPaper Park.

We paid 150 THB ( about $4.5 ) per personat the entrance and started the tour with a guide.

The guided tour was conducted in English.

There was poop just lying on the ground... (But don’t worry, it doesn’t smell.)

You can even touch it with your hands.

The process to get rid of the poop smell!
You can join in and help out too! 😄

You can also see various types of fibers compared to elephant poop.
After that, you’ll have the chance to make paper yourself!

Choose a colored paper ball that you like, dissolve it in water, and spread it out wide.

And once it dries in the sun, the paper-making process is complete!

But you can’t take the paper home with you.

My kids were so upset because they forgot to take the dried paper with them!

You can see paper drying all around.

Behind the scattered papers, there’s a space where you can make your own paper.

We chose to make a notebook for 150 THB about $4.5 )  .
You can take as many different shapes made from elephant poop paper as you want!
You can also cut and create your own designs from the big sheets of paper.
Payment is made when you leave.

Apply wood glue and use a wooden stick to stick the paper pieces you selected.

If you run out of paper, you can always get more!

Ta-da!

The awesome elephant notebook is complete!

The weather was so nice, so the photos turned out great!

Right next to Elephant PooPooPaper Park is the Karen Village, where the long-necked Kayan people live.
However, the entrance fee is 500 THB per person 500 THB (about $15) , so we decided to skip it.

When we saw it from the entrance, it just looked like a market.

Keep this in mind for your plans!
